    Scale Models formed in Melbourne some time during 2010. Guitarists Ross Adam (The Focus, Alexandria) and Rene Schaefer (The Bites, Hand Hell) wanted to capture some of the shambolic energy and sugar rush of mid-‘80s British jangle pop, early Flying Nun Records genius and the reckless abandon of The Wedding Present. Of course when they got together, the resulting songs sounded nothing like those inspirations, especially when they roped in singer and trumpet player Clare Hourigan (Go Spot Run).

    With drummer Ricky French (Actor/Model, Hand Hell) Scale Models started gigging as soon as they had a handful of songs. Their first appearances were on bills alongside Robert Scott (The Bats, The Clean) and Harry Howard (These Immortal Souls). Now, with Danny Martinov (Dogs Of Thomas Park, Problem, Ryan Ferry) behind the kit, Scale Models are hitting their stride and assembling a set of tunes that will eventually form the basis of their debut recording. In the meantime, here are some live recordings that give some indication of what this band is all about.
